PTAB decisions
PTAB Decisions
Decisions of the Patent Trial and Appeal Board shape how IPR and PGR work. This index groups decision notes by how the Board designated them (precedential, informative, representative) and by the issue they address, such as institution, motions to amend, discovery and settlement.
Precedential decisions bind later Board panels; informative decisions offer guidance without binding force; “representative” collections are groupings of orders and decisions on a recurring issue. Designations can change, so confirm a decision’s current status with the USPTO before relying on it.
